Great recipe! To make it a little "lighter", I replaced the 1 cup of heavy cream with a 3/4 cup of sour cream and a 1/4 cup of milk. And I added a squeeze of lime juice just for that little bit of tangy taste.

I used this recipe, but I used homemade butter cookies for the crust (my boyfriend doesn't like cinnamon). Added a little extra vanilla (used vanilla bean) and it came out excellent! Very balanced and creamy~

I used chocolate graham crackers for the crust. Definitely the best cheesecake!

I made this for Christmas and it was fantastic. Since my sister is an extreme chocoholic, I made it with chocolate crust and served it with ganache along with the raspberry sauce so people could choose. It is seriously the best cheesecake ever.

Allowing it to stand at room temperature is definitely an important step--I didn't and the first couple of slices I served were missing chunks of crust...which is totally the best part of the cake!
Made this for a party and it was a hit. Even non-cake lovers love cheesecake. A few people declined at first but then came back saying "wait a minute, you never said it was cheesecake!"

Hello SharonP, I made your cheesecake for Mother's day and it is by far the BEST cheescake. It's wonderfully light and creamy. Thank you for sharing it and your lovely story of your grandmother Dvora, which btw, is a beautiful name.

Thanks lapadia. I love the idea of passing down recipes. The photos are the work of my wonderful husband, who loves cheesecake too.

I love cheescake and I love your story, too! I bet someday your children will take your recipe and keep the legacy alive! Delicious photo...
