Author Notes

I love ginger and Midori together. There's something exciting about a spicy, bright green, melon-y cocktail. It's refreshing, but far from tame. It's also easily made in a pitcher for serving large parties!

This recipe isn't the same without my favorite ginger tea, a Korean brand: Kohyang Ginger Tea. (It's there in the picture.) Look for it in Asian markets. It's delicious, spicy, and not very sweet. If you cannot find this tea, however, you can make your own by pouring hot water over chopped fresh ginger and chilling overnight in the fridge. —beyondcelery

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1.5 ounces gin
  • .5 ounces Midori liqueur
  • .2 ounces (or dash) fresh lime juice
  • chilled ginger tea
Directions
  1. Make 1 cup ginger tea and chill overnight, using about 2-3 teaspoons ginger tea crystals for 1 cup hot water. Alternately, pour 1 cup hot water over 2-3 inches chopped fresh ginger root and chill overnight in refrigerator.
  2. Shake together gin, Midori, lime juice, and about 1oz ginger tea with ice. Pour into cocktail glass and top off with more chilled ginger tea. Sit by the pool and enjoy.
