Far from the usual, this warm punch is made with pear nectar, red wine, and honey that's steeped with star anise and dried hibiscus blossoms. Star anise, gives it a licorice-like flavor. —Kukla

Those two punch recipes (“Thanksgiving Star Cider Punch” and “Apricot-Apple Cider Punch”) are very old-fashioned, I found them in a Russian Food Encyclopedia, which my Mom got as a gift in 1955 and it has 960 pages of every type of food, preparation tips, serving suggestions and much-much more. But since it is written in Russian, I have to translate and make each recipe a couple times to figure out measurements correctly.
