Caveat: I haven’t tried to make this recipe. Yet. I’ve been reviewing all the chai tea recipes I can find on the Food52 site. I’m drawn to the recipes that specify chai tea leaves, whereas this suggests orange peco tea bags, because I buy tea in bulk having found a beautiful Irish Breakfast Tea (assam tea in rolled leaf form) at Upton Teas out of Massachusetts. I also appreciate the recipe calls for whole spices. I want to include turmeric in a fusion if you will of golden milk and chai. So wish me luck, I have fresh turmeric today so will be making a batch to try. Perhaps rinsing my tea leaves briefly in boiling water to leach out a bit of the caffeine?
