When it comes to a brine, I believe that you can add anything you want. I brined my turkey last year and I actually pulled off Thanksgiving dinner.... it was my first attempt as well, so I was impressed. —MoodyCook

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 handful juniper berries
  • 4 cups salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 5 lemons
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 cups orange juice
  • 1 handful garlic cloves
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 turkey
Directions
  1. Boil water add all ingredients add frozen turkey or not... brine should be cold though.... however frozen turkey can act as a giant ice cube
  2. This brine is fun because it is easy. I don't think a lot of people understand the importance of the brine. Let marinate overnight
