I often eat this for breakfast with light iced Yamamotoyama green tea. Can be sweetened to taste with sugar or honey.
Do NOT underestimate how much the beans and rice can expand. One cup of rice in 5 cups of water expands a LOT. Therefore, I would not recommend using more rice or beans than the recipe reads. If you want the porridge to be thick, just reduce the amount of water. —Meira Kitani

Brown Sweet Rice

1/3 cup
Adzuki Beans

5 cups
Water

2 tablespoons
Honey

2 tablespoons
Raw Sugar

1 pinch
Salt
Directions

Wash the adzuki beans and the rice.

Place the beans and rice in a rice cooker.

Cook on the porridge setting. Let steam for about 10 minutes before serving.

Serve hot, with sugar, honey, and iced green tea.
