Romeo and Juliet is how we call a very simple and traditional dessert and Brazil. Consist in guava paste and fresh white cheese, such as Mexican queso fresco. Originally we eat a peace or slice of each, together with a fork, yes simple like that, but here I made a Romeo and Juliet filled donut.
They taste better when warm!!! —Fabiola

Ingredients
  • 10 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup guava paste and cheese cut into cubes and mixed, for filling
Directions
  1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and egg. Little by little add the warm milk, just until the dough is completely combined Pull out some dough to shape into little discs . Fill each with 1/2 teaspoon of the filling mixture. Roll into a donut shape Fry the donuts in hot cooking oil Let it rest in paper towel to absorb any oil., before serving.
