This was an extremely popular dessert when I left Brazil to move to the US, in the 90's. (By the way, this is not a drink; it's a thick cream that should be eaten with a spoon.) It has a few variations in amount, not ingredients. I like mine with way more Cassis , but it's just personal taste. A friend of mine, who lives in the same town, always makes it for me when we join them for dinner. It is SO delicious you won't want to stop eating. But resist the urge, for papaya is a tremendous, er, laxative... —Emilia Rosa
Ingredients

2 cups
ripe papaya, cubbed

scoops of vanilla icecream

4 tablespoons
Crème de Cassis
Directions

Blend papaya (very well) in the blender. Add ice cream and blend a few more seconds. Distributed among four bowls and pour a tablespoon of Cassis on each. You can also server the Cassis on the side, in little liqueur glasses.
