Thank God For Oats Stuffing

This is a traditional Scottish Stuffing that over the years has been changed and passed down in my husbands family. My father-in-law makes it every year and now my family makes it as well, its a holiday staple! And so delicious and different then any stuffing you have had! —Darci Bos

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 Sweet Onion, Coarsely Chopped
  • 5 Celery Stalks, Coarsely Chopped
  • 5 tablespoons Dried Sage
  • 2 pounds Danish Cream Salted Butter(or any salted butter)
  • 1-42 ounces Container Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 Jar Heinz Turkey Gravy(for moistening)
Directions
  1. Melt butter in large sauce pan
  2. Add onion, celery and sage to butter.
  3. Cook until onions are clear.
  4. Pour into crockpot
  5. Add oats and stir to moisten.
  6. Set crockpot to high, cover with lid and cook for 1-2 hours stirring occasionally so bottom doesn’t burn.
  7. It’s done when all the butter has been soaked up by the oats.
  8. Stir in jar of gravy and set to low and serve!
