Author Notes: I came up with this concoction when I was working on a Thanksgiving story and needed the perfect cocktail that would look elegant on a silver tray and be delicious and Fall inspired. Figs have a very short season but fig jam is always in steady supply making this elegant cocktail appropriate year round. Brita

Makes: 1 cocktail

  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fig jam
  • dash of angostura bitters
  • demerara sugar for the rim
  1. In a shaker filled with ice: add bourbon, simple syrup, jam, bitters and fresh lemon. Shake until cold. Rim your glass with a squeeze of lemon and sugar. Strain and serve.
