This southern sweet tea will have you grasping your pearls...In a good way. This ain't your grandmother's sweet tea recipe. —MyMansBelly

Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons Teaspoons Sugar
  • 6 Large, Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 1 1/2 ounces Absinthe
  • 8 ounces Unsweetened Iced Tea (It's best if the tea is cold from the refrigerator)
  • 1 Lemon Wedge (for garnish)
  • 1 Mint Sprig (for garnish)
Directions
  1. Add the sugar to a heavy bottomed 16 ounce glass followed by the mint leaves.
  2. Muddle the mint and sugar until all you have is a green, grainy pulp.
  3. Add the Absinthe to the glass.
  4. Fill the glass with crushed ice an top off with iced tea.
  5. Garnish with a lemon wedge, sprig of mint and a straw.
  6. Then you just give that straw a good stir to kick up the sugar, mint and Absinthe into the tea.
  7. Take a sip and relax.
