My boys love these carrot fries hot out of the oven. I like baking them as it eliminates the messy splattering that results from the typical preparation of French fries --frying. http://www.elanaspantry.com/carrot-french-fries/ —elanaspantry

Ingredients
  • 6 large carrots
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon celtic sea salt
Directions
  1. Cut each carrot into 2-inch long sections
  2. Cut each section into thin sticks
  3. In a large bowl toss carrot sticks with olive oil and salt
  4. Spread out carrot sticks on a parchment paper baking sheet
  5. Bake at 425° for 18-22 minutes until carrots are browned

I do something similar with roasted carrots, though I leave out the parchment paper, start with a scorching hot pan and add a teaspoon of sugar when tossing the carrots with olive oil, salt and pepper. IS that really ketchup you're using for a dipping sauce? I never tried that angle.
