fresh cranberries

water

sugar

cinnamon stick

star anise

orange, juice and zest

1 pinch
kosher salt
Directions

Put all ingredients in a medium pot and bring to a boil over a medium-high flame. Lower the flame to medium-low and let simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.

Remove from the heat, let cool to room temp. Remove the star anise and cinnamon stick. Serve cool or room temp.
