Made this yesterday to serve with a pork tenderloin. Followed the recipe with three minor exceptions. I served the peas separately due to personal preference and I mixed the noodles in with the sauce. In addition, I mixed about a teaspoon of Spicy Chili Crisp in the sauce. Absolutely delicious. My husband and both guests had seconds. The Marsala and mascarpone make it sing. It would still be good with sour cream and broth, but not the excellence of this dish. I will make extra sauce next time, also.

Was looking for a way to use up a tub of mascarpone with a nearing expiration date, also kinda had those end-of-week bare-fridge what-can-I-even-make blues. Found this and it was ideal 'cause I happened to have a couple packets of dried mushrooms that also needed to go soon. I know I'm being one of those obnoxious "I subbed everything different to the point it hardly seems related" commenters as I didn't have marsala so used a mix of Shaoxing wine and the stock I'd reconstituted my dried mushrooms in...but I wanted to comment so I could say it was tasty and in retrospect I recognize it's an ideal Friday night supper for Lent on a bunch of vectors--it relies mostly on pantry stuff so it's good for the end of the week when you're out of most everything, it's vegetarian, it's comforting (the winter classic + pasta!) which is good when it's still the end of winter and cold, but also a light-hearted look towards spring with those peas lightening things up and giving everything a clean, delicate sweetness. Really nice. Thank you!

We all have tried what we consider to be wonderful recipes....but, with a slight variation. That's part of what makes so many FOOD52 Recipes great. They are versatile and give us room to innovate. I made this last night and, wait for it, I served the peas separately. I did use Marsarla and it was fabulous. Since people who read the reviews may not read the replies to reviews, I will include my own shortly.

Fantastic. I used a mix of shiitake and button mushrooms. I subbed cut green beans for the peas.
