Most of the time, I’m a true believer in sticking with traditional recipes. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! However, I’ll throw that rule out the window in a heartbeat for chocolate. It’s nothing against raisins. They’re great! I just like chocolate more. —My Stir Crazy Kitchen

Ingredients

cup granulated sugar

cup firmly packed brown sugar

cup butter, softened

teaspoon vanilla

eggs

cup all-purpose flour

teaspoon baking soda

teaspoon cinnamon

teaspoon salt

cups quick-cooking oats

cup chocolate chips
Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine sugars and butter. Beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; blend well.

Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; mix well. Stir in oats and raisins.

Drop dough by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until edges are light golden brown. Cool for 1 minute. Remove and let cool on a wire rack. Repeat with the remaining dough.
