Author Notes

My Cherry Jam Margarita came about thanks to an idea from one of the best bartenders in Stuttgart, Germany. We all think of using various ingredients, so why not use that jar of jelly or jam in your frig. If you don't have a cherry jam, then use a berry jam of some sort. If you end up doing that, you might want to adjust the sweetness, since a berry jam will be sweeter than cherry. Cheers! —Jacob K Thomas

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon Cherry Jam
  • 1 ounce Lime Juice (about the juice from one 1 lime)
  • 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
  • 1 1/2 ounces Silver Tequila
  • Dash Angostura Bitters
  • Lime wedge and/or a Cherry (optional garnish)
Directions
  1. In a rocks glass add ice and set aside. In a cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients, except for garnishes. Fill shaker with ice and put the cap on. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds, or until shaker is extremely cold.
  2. Strain cocktail into your prepared rocks glass and garnish with lime wedge or a cherry if using. Serve immediately.

You should be able to use seeded jam, just strain it well.
