Bottle gourd aka lauki is easily available in the market and if you are bored with conventional item of lauki this is what you can try to make your treat for your teste buds. Lauki kofta is easy to prepare and taste wise it really very good.

This can be served hot with any bread item and also it can be served with rice on lunch and as well as in dinner.

Below are the ingredients to prepare bottle gourd kofta which serves two person. —BakingMaking

  • 250 grams Bottle Gourd
  • 100 grams Gram Flour
  • 2 pieces Green Chili
  • 1 piece Small Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 5 pieces Garlic
  • 2 pieces Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 3 sprigs 13) Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Directions
  1. Kofta balls: Take approx. 250 gm of bottle gourd/Lauki and grate it finely. Wring out the water from grated bottle gourd. Add besan (Gram Flour), chopped onion, chopped green chili, grated ginger, red chili powder, salt and mix it well and make dough. Now prepare small ball (kofta) shape and deep fry those balls until it turned brown color.
  2. Gravy preparation: Heat the oil in the pan and cumin seeds and one green chili. Add chopped onion fry it 1 to 2 minutes then add grated ginger garlic and fry it until it becomes light brown in color. Add red chili powder, turmeric mix it well. Add tomato puree and fry it until it extract oil from it. If you don’t fry those tomato & onion the gravy will not taste good so take little time ad fry it properly. After it fried properly add garam masala to it and fry it properly. Once it done add water as per the quantity of gravy you need and take a hand full of kashuri methi and crush it by your both hand and put it. Then boil it 1-2 minutes.
