At step 3 instead of adding tomato added ground spices, potato and water -- cooked till potato was tender added tomato paste, chopped raw tomato, cooked till somewhat melted then added meat, cooked till just done, then added dairy element. this worked great and I think it would be good with fish or maybe chick peas. Will do again

I’m confused, was I supposed to cook the potato ahead of time? I followed the instructions exactly, but after 10 minutes the potatoes were still basically raw.

I liked this recipe a lot.....I've made it twice now....simple to make and easy to tweak based on what's in the pantry. I like adding chickpeas and sweat potatoes.

Flavorful but mild. Perhaps a result of my pedestrian chili powder. I'll be kicking up the heat on the left overs. Appreciated that none of the spices was too exotic so I had almost everything on hand. Bookmarking for future use.

OMG, we LOVED this recipe! The dinner “conversation” consisted exclusively of ecstatic “Mmm”s. However, I found it necessary to add much more liquid—at least another cup (and perhaps closer to 1 1/2 c.) of water or chicken broth. Accordingly, I also doubled the amount of cream. The spices easily withstood this dilution, though.
