cups long grain rice

1/4
cup soy sauce
-
8 tablespoons
butter
-
5 - 6
scallions, thinly sliced
Directions
-
In a medium sauce pan with a lid, stir the rice, water and soy sauce together. Bring the mixture up to a boil, cover and then simmer until the liquid is absorbed into the rice, about 15 to 20 minutes.

While the rice is cooking cut the stick of butter up a bit and then in a small saucepan heat until it becomes a nutty brown.
-
Pour the brown butter into the finished rice and add the scallions. Stir and serve.
I think I get my love for food and cooking from my mom, who was an amazing cook. She would start baking and freezing a month before Christmas in order to host our huge open house on Christmas afternoon. I watched and I learned...to this day I try not to procrastinate when it comes to entertaining.
My cooking style is pretty much all over the place, although I'm definitely partial to Greek and Italian cuisine. Oh yes, throw a little Cajun in there too!
