Banana Bread with Honey

A banana bread sweetened only with honey (and bananas of course). Tender, lightly sweet and delicious. —Becky - The Fig Jar

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 3 Ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3/4 cup Honey
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup
    2 TBSP Milk


  • 2 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • Pinch Baking soda
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. Place bananas in a large bowl and mash thoroughly with a fork. Add honey, milk, egg and oil and stir to combine.
  3. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir just until combined.
  4. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, until toothpick or wooden skewer comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting on a wire rack to cool.

This was Ok. The problems where: tasted too sweet, you could taste the backing powder (too much in recipe , use less) and it was way undercooked (tasted raw like batter) in the middle while being almost overcooked on the outside. 3 stars

Also, if you do make it, I highly recommend the addition of chocolate chips. I use Lilies chocolate chips because they are auger free

I absolutely LOVE this recipe!!! I have made double batches 3 times now. My children and husband love it as well. Not loaded with sugar, so super guilt free. MAKES FABULOUS PEANUT BUTTER AND HONEY SANDWICHES :) Thank you so much for sharing! 5 stars!
