Like many of my recipes this one was inspired by an impulse buy. I kept on hearing about Lao Gan Ma's Spicy Chili Crisps everywhere I turned. One day, while at a Chinese supermarket, I saw a large jar on the shelf and it was on sale! As I put it into my basket, this picture of green beans and bacon started to form in my head. When I got home, I quickly put this dish together for dinner. It exceeded my expectations. Salty with a little bit of sweet with a subtle má là. Surprising not that spicy. The heat was perfect. It was so good, we had it again the next evening. Use a meaty bacon (like Hempler's European-style bacon) or ham. —HalfPint
