Is there anything better than fried cheese?? Only if it's made in the air fryer and therefore healthy! —Salt+Rye

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 4 ounces goat cheese
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more if you like more heat)
  • Cooking spray
  • ½ cups Panko bread crumbs
Directions
  1. Divide goat cheese into 8 pieces, and roll them into balls. Place on a plate or tray and stick in the freezer for 20 minutes.
  2. Preheat the air fryer at 400° for 4 minutes.
  3. Place the flour, whisked egg, and panko in 3 separate bowls. Add rosemary, salt, and red pepper flakes to the panko crumbs.
  4. First lightly coat the balls in flour, dusting off any excess. Coat with the egg wash, then cover in panko crumbs.
  5. Once the fryer is preheated, spray the basket with cooking spray (I use avocado oil in a Misto sprayer)
  6. Place the panko-crusted goat cheese in the fryer basket and cook at 400° for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  7. The cheese will be super melty when they first come out, making them hard to remove from the basket. Set the basket on a kitchen towel and let the fritters cool down a bit before removing them gently with a fork.

Hi!! Would it be possible to make these sans air frier? I know not ideal but I'm willing to get creative / would be thrilled with even a lesser version of these, they look so good!

The recipe mentions panko crumbs, but they are not on the ingredients list! So … how much panko should be included in the recipe?

Oh no! Sorry for the mistake! I would use 1/2 cup of panko! I'll try to go back and fix the ingredient list!
