Ingredients
-
1 cup
Rice
-
1.25 cups
Water
-
1 tablespoon
Oil (of your choice)
-
3 tablespoons
Seasoned Rice Vinegar
-
2 tablespoons
Black Sesame Seeds (toasted)
-
Wasabi - for dipping and presentation
-
Fillings of your choice (ex. protein, veggies, shrimp)
Directions
-
Prepare the rice. Bring water to a boil and add rice and oil. We used Super Lucky Elephant's Thai Hom Mali Jasmine Rice, Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil and a pinch of salt. Cover with a lid, reduce the heat for about 15 minutes or until cooked. Set aside, removed from heat.
-
Combine the rice, seasoned rice vinegar and sesame seeds in a bowl. To avoid clumping, do not stir, but toss gently.
-
Use wet fingers to palm a layer of rice. Place in filling of your choice. We used diced cucumbers, smoked salmon and mango to make a variety of poppers. Roll firmly into a ball. Repeat using all ingredients.
-
Add to plate and top with Wasabi for presentation. Enjoy!
