These Salty pastries with cheese and butter are very easy to make. They are soft inside and crunchy outside. A great treat when watching movies with family. —Sonja Lazukić

Ingredients

400 grams
whole wheat flour

500 grams
cream cheese

200 grams
butter
-
1 pinch
salt

1 piece
egg yolk

30 grams
sesame seeds
Directions

Pour the flour, salt, and diced butter into a large bowl, and combine everything well with your hands.

Add cheese and knead the dough for about 5 minutes.

Wrap the dough in transparent foil and leave it in the fridge for at least 1 hour to set.
You can leave the dough to rest in the fridge up to overnight.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

Flatten the dough with a rolling pin on a flat surface to a thickness of about 1 cm. Use a sharp knife to make notches in the dough as in the picture above. Using a round cup, take the circular shapes out of the dough, then arrange them on a baking tray.

Spread egg yolk on each cake and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cakes turn golden.
