Directions
- For Meatballs and Sauce
-
Mix ground beef with spices (2 tbsp basil leaves, nutmeg, fenugreek powder, salt, and pepper), add egg, basil, and stir well. Let rest for 10-15 minutes.
-
Heat olive oil in a skillet. Roll the minced meat into 1.5-inch balls. Roll the balls in cornflour and fry for 3 minutes for all sides. Meatballs are done.
-
Let's make the sauce. Heat oil in a skillet, add garlic, onion, and hot peppers to cook quickly (about 2 minutes), stirring constantly.
-
Pour tomatoes, stir, add basil, sugar, salt and simmer for 10 minutes or until excess moisture evaporates.
- For Sub Sandwich
-
Cut buns lengthwise and heat it slightly on the grill (or in your oven), literally 1-2 minutes.
-
Spread the sauce evenly on both halves of each bun. Arrange the meatballs, sprinkle with cheese and cilantro (add arugula, if use), and serve immediately.
