Author Notes

I started doing research on the Moscow Mule a while ago. It is one of my favorite cocktails. In theory it's a straightforward cocktail. That's the thing though, it's not so easy, just like anything you can screw it up. Too much lime, too much vodka. Not knowing the difference between ginger beer and ginger ale.

I like variations, so with it being summer, creating something with one of the season's best fruits was a no-brainer. Enter the Peach Moscow Mule. The peach gives a nice bright flavor that blends well with the spice of the ginger beer. This is a great summer drink that is good to end the week. —Jacob K Thomas

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 Peach, unpeeled and sliced
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces Vodka
  • 3 ounces Ginger Beer
  • Peaches for garnish
Directions
  1. In a rocks glass add your sliced peaches, reserve two or three slices for garnish.  To the glass add your lime juice and muddle until you have a nice-looking paste.  You want it to be pretty much liquefied.
  2. Add vodka, then ice to the glass, stir to combine this part of the drink.  Pour ginger beer on top, give it another light stir to combine this portion of the drink.  Add peaches to your drink on top for garnish.  Serve immediately.

So many ways to "dress up" ginger beer. Ginger Beer is my favorite "soda". Not a fan of the spirits, but have added a wide variety of fruits to ginger beer with excellent outcomes. Need a very good ginger beer to pull these off, though. So much out there is pretty mild, and I like a real kick of ginger and lime. Thanks for a new idea....

I hope you enjoy it. Yes, mild ginger beers aren't good at all when it comes to certain drinks. I've made my own a few times, need to do that again, totally worth it sometimes.
