Matcha Puffs with Orange Curd

This is the most perfect summer dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth and period cravings!! It is matcha flavored puffs with creamy orange curd fillings!! —Wong Angel

  • Matcha puffs
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Castor sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Matcha powder
  • 1/4 cup Vega oil/melted butter
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 2 Eggs
  • Orange curd
  • 1 Orange juice
  • 70 milliliters Milk
  • 3 Egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons Castor sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
In This Recipe
  1. First let's make matcha puffs. Combine flour, castor sugar, matcha powder, oil and water in a pot.
  2. Heat it up and low heat (occasionally medium heat) and stir it constantly until it forms a non-sticky dough.
  3. Cool it off then add in the eggs and mix well using a spatula until it forms a sticky batter.
  4. Transfer into a piping bag (optionally with star-shaped mouth) and pipe the batter onto a lined baking tray.
  5. Bake them in preheated oven at 180°C for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Now let's make the orange curd. Add orange juice, milk, egg yolks, castor sugar and cornstarch in a pot and stir well.
  7. Heat it up on low heat and stir it constantly.
  8. When it becomes thick and creamy, remove from heat and strain it using a sieve or colander.
  9. Dip the matcha puffs into the orange curd and enjoy!!
