Tuna Tartar

A refreshing first course or appetizer —sally Uhlmann

What You'll Need
  • Dressing
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 small red onion, minced
  • 1 tablespoon each: fresh basil and mint, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon each: salt and red chili pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Tuna
  • 1/2 pound sushi grade ahi tuna, finely diced
  • 1 small avocado, finely diced
  • 1 small mango, peeled and finely diced
  1. Combine all dressing ingredients in a jar and shake to combine.
  2. Place all tuna ingredients in a small bowl. Toss with enough dressing to lightly coat. Taste for salt and seasonings.
  3. Assemble tartar in a ring mold or mound on a plate and serve immediately with thin slices of baguette.
