Test Kitchen Notes

This cocktail classic is refreshingly tart with a hint of sweet, thanks to grapefruit juice and a dash of simple syrup. Tying it all together is Tequila Ocho Plata—a clean, lively tequila made with 100% Blue Agave (and no additives, ever).

This recipe will be featured in a virtual cooking and cocktail class in partnership with Tequila Ocho on December 15, led by Rick Martinez—reserve your spot here. —The Editors

  • 2 ounces freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 ounces sparkling water
Directions
  1. Combine all the ingredients—except the sparkling water—in an ice-filled cocktail shaker, then shake to combine.
  2. Strain into a salt-rimmed (if that’s your thing) highball glass filled with ice. Top off the drink with sparkling water and serve.
