Each summer, my husband and I choose a "signature" cocktail and try different recipes each week until we've hit upon the perfect formula. This summer, it's the tart/sweet, super refreshing grapefruit Paloma. —Lisa Steele

Ingredients

2 ounces
blanca tequila
-
3 ounces
pink grapefruit juice

1/2 ounce
lime juice
-
1 ounce
simple syrup
-
1 splash
grapefruit soda or sparkling water
Directions

Sugar the rim of a lowball glass, if desired.

Shake the tequila, juices, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice until chilled.

Pour over ice in the glass, add a splash of soda.

Garnish with an orange slice and fresh sprig of mint or basil.
