Ingredients
-
1 pound
ground turkey
-
2.5 tablespoons
ketchup
-
2 teaspoons
soy sauce
-
1.5 teaspoons
anchovy paste
-
salt
-
ground pepper
-
canola oil
-
4
sliced cheddar cheese or cheese of your choice
-
4
hamburger bans
-
lettuce
-
avocado
-
ketchap
-
mustard
Directions
-
Mix ground turkey, ketchup, soy sauce, anchovy paste, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Use salt and pepper generously. Combine well with a hand. Form into four patties with a slight dent in the center.
-
In a 12-inch cast iron skillet or griddle, heat up canola oil to well coat the bottom over medium high heat. Once oil is hot, drop 1 teaspoon of ground turkey mixture and cook both sides. It will take only a minute or so. Taste and adjust seasoning, particularly salt and pepper, as necessary. You want the patties to taste flavorful without condiments.
-
Once the seasoning of the ground turkey mixture is adjusted, cook the patties for three to four minutes. Turn the patties and place a slice of cheese on each patty. Place a lid and cook for another three minutes.
-
Toast buns as desired. Top burgers with condiments as desired.
