Author Notes

This fun, fizzy cocktail is a riff on a French 95, a bourbon-based version of the French 75. The orange juice and bitters tease out the caramel-y sweetness of the Maker’s Mark 46® bourbon, while the Champagne topper cuts through the heat when paired with Melissa King’s recipe for Grilled Oysters With Sichuan Chili Butter. —Irene Yoo
