Summer 2022 has been filled with warm weather and tons of entertaining! As you gather for your last few BBQ’s of the season, treat friends and family to a delicious summer-inspired dish. Wisconsin Cheese’s Sweet and Savory Caprese Stacks are fresh, flavorful and pair perfectly with your cocktail of choice. Stacked with ripe tomato, Decatur Dairy Basil Farmers Cheese, and a blend of sweet and savory notes, this mouth-watering appetizer is sure to satisfy. What You'll Need
  • 12 thin slices of capicola
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 3 large tomatoes, cut in 1/4-inch slices
  • 8 ounces of Decatur Dairy Basil Farmers Cheese, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 cup of fresh basil leaves
  • 3 large peaches, pitted and cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 2 tablespoons of balsamic glaze
  • Pepper
  1. Start by heating the oven to 300°F and lining a 15 x 10-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the capicola in a single layer on prepared pan, taking care to not overlap.
  3. Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with pepper.
  4. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until crisp.
  5. Place six tomato slices on a serving platter. Top with the farmers cheese, basil leaves, peach slices and capicola. Repeat layers on the stacks, starting with tomato slices.
  6. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and season with pepper.
