Author Notes

Ever thought to put hummus on a burger before? Neither had I, but since my first taste, I’ve dubbed Ithaca Grillo’s Pickles Hummus this summer’s BBQ essential and every burger’s new best friend.

If you think you’ve had a good burger, add a dollop of Ithaca’s newest flavor, and think again. The salt to my pepper, the peanut butter to my jelly—this bold, pickle-flavored hummus brings a DILL-ighful tang, while the hummus texture delivers an unbeatable creaminess to every burger and hotdog without fail. —Emily Smith

What You'll Need
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 tablespoons Ithaca Grillo's Pickles Hummus
  • 8 iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper until well blended. Divide mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty.
  2. Lay burgers over the grill, turn once, and removed when browned on both sides, 8 minutes total.
  3. Lay buns, cut side down on grill to toast, about 30 seconds.
  4. Spread Ithaca Grillo’s Pickle Hummus on bun bottoms. Add lettuce and tomato. Set bun tops in place.
