In a small pot, add the black beans and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook until the beans are tender. If using canned beans, simply rinse and drain.

In a small skillet, cook diced pork, and smoked sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through.

In the same skillet, sauté diced onions until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the cooked black beans, bay leaf, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the skillet with the meats, onions, and garlic. Mix well.

Allow the feijoada mixture to simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Add a little water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
