One of the well known beer snacks in Beijing is the numbing-spicy peanuts. They are badly addictive: fried peanuts with a salty numbing kick. For entertaining this year, I've adapted the recipe to be healthier and just as tasty. Oh how I miss Beijing. Happy Chinese New Year! —FrancesRen
Ingredients

2 cups
peanuts (or mixed nuts)

1 tablespoon
chinese chili oil sauce (like Lao Gan Ma ????

1 teaspoon
brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon
salt

1/4 teaspoon
ground Sichuan pepper, toasted in pan until fragrant
Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Mix all ingredients until the nuts are well coated; spread the nuts in one layer and bake for about 20 minutes, shaking frequently, until toasted and golden brown.
