Bring on the splatters, splashes, and spills—they’re no match for our Five Two Ultimate Apron. 32,000 community opinions helped transform the simple apron into your mightiest kitchen assistant. Our version has an adjustable design and three sizes, including one for kids, so you can fold it, tuck it, wrap it, and wear it however you please. With your design know-how, we’ve also cooked up loads of extra perks (including our favorite feature—suggested by a couple of smart-as-a-whip community members).

Get to know our apron…you’re going to do great things together:

  • A size for everyone: Our original Ultimate has a few inches added to the sides and back, for those who requested extra coverage. If you like a more compact style, go for the Short Ultimate. Both have an extra-wide bib to protect you from every angle—and we didn’t forget a version with a Velcro strap for the kids.

  • Built-in pot holders at the bottom corners: Not one but two Food52ers wrote into our Aprons quiz with this clever idea, and we ran with it. Our aprons’ pot holders are comfortably situated on the bottom-front corners, and have a cotton-terry lining for hand protection for all your stovetop needs (up to 250°F). We recommend using them for transferring a hot pan to the table, removing hot lids and knobs safely, etc. Kid's apron does not have built-in pot holders

  • Clever pocket construction: 84% of you asked for multiple pockets—we placed two roomy ones at the hip, plus a chest pocket, too (taller than it is wide, with handy stitching down the front so it can hold pens, a thermometer, and even reading glasses safely).

  • Conversion chart at the ready: A handy chart lives just inside one pocket, for those moments you can’t pull out your phone to check how many cups there are in a pint.

  • Handy hanging loop: It’s specially placed inside the bib so you can hang your apron a little bit higher—this helps keep it from dangling on the ground.

  • Adjustable neck strap: A metal buckle lets you fine-tune your fit based on your height—plus, the strap is generously wide to sit comfortably on your neck.

  • Extra-long waist ties: We made our ties a bit wider for comfort, and long enough to loop them around your waist and tie in front. (This just so happens to be a great place to tuck a kitchen towel.) Ties are 5" shorter on each side on our Short apron

  • Sturdy fabric & stitching: 67% of you asked for a midweight fabric so spills won’t seep through to your clothes. We chose durable 100% cotton twill with reinforced stitching—simply put, it’s built to last.

  • A (very) good-looking design: We’ve got five Five Two hues to choose from: Rhubarb, Eucalyptus, Peppercorn, Paprika, and Blueberry. Meanwhile, the off-center stripes are a modern take on vintage apron styling.

Quality material
High quality, durable material for an apron. Like the color, but unsure if I will ever be able to use the "built-in pot holders" without untying the apron first.

Too Heavy and does not wash well.
The idea behind this apron is a good one, however, this particular apron is very heavy and hot. It also comes out of the wash wrinkled and would really need ironing! I don't even buy clothes that I have to iron, I certainly don't want to have to iron an apron. I am going to wash it a few more times to see if it softens up and stays at least a little unwrinkled.

Lovely!
I haven’t used this apron yet but I love the feel of it. It feels sturdier and if higher quality fabric than I expected. Worth it!
