When I'm too busy to make broth from scratch I open a tetra box of store bought broth and add 1 star anise, 4 whole black pepper corns and a bit of green or white onion, let simmer while prepping all other ingredients. Then stain broth into another pot and continue on with my other ingredients.
Perks up those otherwise bland boxed broths.

maybe this sill be #10: my version of middle eastern spicy chicken soup: 2-3 T oilive oil into large pot; saute chicken pieces, extra large chunks of potato & carrot, several whole peeled garlic cloves; add 1 T tumeric, 1 t cumin, salt, pepper to taste, and some chili (green fresh, sliced in half, seeded, or pure chili powder or dried chili flakes, your call) to taste; careful not to burn garlic. Add "soup greens) (parlsey, celery, parsnip, onion, etc) and water to cover all. Simmer gently for about an hour or until chicken is cooked and broth is tasty. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

Where is soup number 10? Did I miss it? I only counted 9. They all look great!
