I just bought some fresh apricots. Do you think there's too much moisture to use them, in this recipe? I'm thinking of serving these with a hazel...

I wouldn't use fresh. As you surmise, they would add too much moisture. More importantly, their flavor is much less intense and concentrated than dried apricots. Even the dried apricots are somewhat low key in these scones (i.e., their flavor is not dominant), so I would fear the fresh getting lost altogether. ;o)
