We asked the Food52 team, "Who has changed the way you cooked?" Not surprisingly, the majority of the answers were "My mom." At the Food52 office, moms are often a part of the food conversation, whether we're recounting our mom's infamous boiled brussels sprouts or baking a cake inspired by an editor's mom. Whether she cooked from scratch every night, considered boxed macaroni and cheese to be a well-rounded representation of the food pyramid, or was renowned for her tuna salad—and only her tuna salad—it's often our moms' recipes that we turn to for comfort and meal inspiration.
