1 Minute Meal: Generations of Meat Cutters at Katz's Delicatessen

October  1, 2015

At New York City's iconic Katz's Delicatessen, some of the "cutters"—meat cutters—have been working the counter not just for decades, but for generations.

Jake Dell, co-owner and manager at Katz's Delicatessen—the New York City landmark on the Lower East Side—shares his memories and his respect for the "cutters," the people who prepare Katz's world-famous sandwiches and share a special relationship with customers from behind the deli counter.

1 Minute Meal is a micro-documentary series dedicated to capturing the many faces of New York City through the lens of food.
