What People Are Saying About Our New (Not)Recipes App

March 23, 2016

The internet is brutal/wonderful for many reasons, not least of which is because you can get pretty much instant feedback on any idea you might have. So when we tossed our baby, the spankin' new (Not)Recipes app, into the ether this morning, we knew you'd have some things to say about it.

The good news was that overwhelmingly, the initial responders can be categorized as "thrilled" and/or "stoked," "excited," or "freaking out."

For example, it's clear that some of you totally get us—which is the very. best. feeling!

Well okay, of course Amanda Hesser gets us. But others? They're feeling all the feelings:

And apparently, the powers-at-be are enjoying it, too:

And of course, there are early critics—who we applaud for helping us map out the road ahead:

Regarding a search feature: Click on ingredients and hashtags to browse more specifically. We're working on a straight-up search bar!

Dear Android users: We hear you loud and clear! Meet our massive mobile app engineering team:

In other words, we didn't have the capacity to build both versions at once, so we started with iOS (since nearly half of the traffic to our site comes from iPhones and iPads!).

Regarding a "delete post" button: If you accidentally post something mortifying to the app, just email [email protected].

Dear Shit Food Blogger: At least you're trying!

Keep up the chatter! We love hearing from you about the app.

Very weird to call people with questions & interest in your app critics.

I'm guessing it is meant more like "critics." ;-)
