The Perfect Flank Steak is Easy—and So Are These 3 Sauces

We partnered with the Beef Checkoff and The Chew's Dan Churchill to share his favorite way to sear a Steak and three epic sauces to serve with it.

There are just 5 steps to making an epic flank steak:

1. Season your steak (for a crust you'll be proud of).

2. Get your pan screaming hot.

3. Flip every 15 seconds.

4. Slice against the grain.

5. Serve with a tasty sauce.

And about that last point, that sauce doesn't have to (and shouldn't) be any harder than cooking the steak is. Take these three from cookbook author Dan Churchill: Roast Cauliflower Sauce, Avocado Salsa, and Miso Sauce. The hardest part about the first is waiting for the cauliflower and garlic to cook, while the second is kind of like a more vegetable-heavy guacamole, and the third is an umami bomb you can whisk together in less than 5 minutes. Heck, you can make all 3 if you're feeling crazy. Seems easy, right? That's because it is.

We teamed up with the Beef Checkoff to share recipes, tips, and videos all season long, showing you how to prep and cook beef at home like you've been doing it forever.

See what other Food52 readers are saying.

I fall in love with every sandwich I ever meet.
