Yes, IKEA’s 2018 catalog is coming and we couldn’t be more excited (though the upcoming collection with Hay nearly sent us into a tailspin). Earlier this week, the popular home for weekend warriors introduced its new “Make room for life”-themed lineup and we’re already digitally dog-earing everything.
While the hard copy lands in stores next week on Aug. 2 with the digital version and iOS and Android app available Aug. 7, the sneak peek promises a darker, moodier vibe unlike anything we’ve ever seen from the Swedish giant.

The new catalog is “encouraging people to make space for their needs and dreams,” according to Shideh Hashemi, marketing manager for IKEA U.S. “As homes rapidly change to fit our lifestyles, we want to inspire and enable people to make room for the things they love in life.” (Sounds like a healthy philosophy Marie Kondo would approve of.) This means multi-functional products that can adapt to fluid living situations, like a media center that doubles as a storage unit, also transforming into a modular sleep-sofa for visitors. Newly launched products will start hitting store shelves in August.
