I love a good ‘How It’s Made’ video, and this rendition does not disappoint. It starts with a brief history of the candy before diving into all things production. The whole process begins with sugar. Lots of it. Like, 600-pound vats of it. After some processing, flavoring, coloring, and pressing, the sweet tiny tablets emerge. Then, machines slip them into the iconic dispenser—by far my favorite part—and off they go to be crushed between the teeth of some sugar-hungry child.
