A Note From Our Co-Founders

Now’s the time for community—we’re here for you.

Dear Food52ers,

We’re thinking a lot about our community: all of you, our team, and our makers around the world. We hope you’re staying safe and healthy.

We want you to know we’re here to support you during this challenging time—whether it’s to help you figure out what to cook with the ingredients you have on hand, to answer your questions about how often you need to clean your phone, or to serve as an engaging counterpoint to all the news.

To keep our team members healthy and do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19, we’ve made the decision to temporarily close the Food52 offices. Among other things, this will mean halting photo and video production in our test kitchen and studios. We're all working from home, and we know many of you are too.

It's an unprecedented time, and we want to make sure we keep supporting each other like the great community we are. We have some ideas about how to share our experiences in thoughtful and positive ways, just as Food52ers have shared and connected from the very beginning. We’ll be in touch soon with details.

In the meantime, be well,

Amanda Hesser & Merrill Stubbs
Co-Founders, Food52

Thanks. That is a good message.

Thank you for the thoughtful message - best wishes to you and yours.

Recipes with whatever one has in the kitchen would be practical and appreciated! Chicken apple sausage, dukkah, rice and frozen broccoli - any thoughts?

I think I would just do a riff on fried rice with all of the above (and if you want to make it straight through rather than wait for cold, dry leftover rice that people often say is best for making fried rice, just cook the rice with a little less water, then spread it out on baking sheets to cool and dry off in a well-ventilated area). You could even toss the frozen broccoli on top of the rice to steam as it's finishing. Then sizzle the chopped sausage in a big skillet with some oil, add in the dukkah to toast a bit, then dump in your cooled rice and broccoli to warm through in the spiced oil. Would love to see others' ideas, too!

That’s a nice statement. What if customers during this special period need to return stuff? Can it be extended?

Customer-Care March 17, 2020
Yes! We are closely monitoring the situation and are making exceptions to our return policy as it unfolds. Please feel free to reach us at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns about a return you'd like to make—we'll be happy to help.
