The 10 Most Popular Recipes We've Ever Shared on TikTok

The dishes we stopped scrolling for.

As I write this in March 2023, I have two pieces of evidence that confirm TikTok is still alive and well:

  1. I was on it this morning (definitely not during a meeting).
  2. The person sitting next to me at the coffee shop has been scrolling through it on their phone for nearly an hour.

Regardless of what people think about TikTok, one thing is undeniably true: The food rocks. All of it looks good, all the time. Over the last few years we’ve learned techniques, tricks, and new recipes on the app, while also sharing some of our own. Of everything we’ve posted so far, here are our most-viewed recipes on TikTok—ranked by popularity.

10. Stir-Fried Udon

This recipe reads like a mad lib of the internet’s most beloved ingredients as gochujang, bacon, parmesan, and udon noodles all find their way into the dish. Taking only 20 minutes from start to finish, it works as a late-night snack or a cozy weeknight meal.

9. Baked Olive, Tomato & Feta Dip

There isn’t much to explain here: Baking feta with tomatoes is popular because it's delicious. This particular variation of the baked feta and tomato combo is especially good because there are olives involved and it’s equally enjoyable when reheated the next day. Serve with crackers and crusty bread.

8. Mozzarella Schnitzel

Former Food52 editor Emma Lapperruque says this dish is “like a mozzarella stick if someone sat on it by accident.” And true to its roots, this schnitzel transforms three slices of low-moisture mozzarella into something you could build an entire meal around.

7. Pecan pie bars

Unlike some of its holiday associates, pecan pie deserves year-round recognition. While a single pie won’t necessarily serve a large group, these bars offer a convenient way to pack pecan pie flavor into an accessible, hand-held treat. Bonus: These bars are perfect for your next picnic, barbecue, or potluck.

6. Miso Mushroom Pasta

Also featured in the collection of our most popular recipes on Instagram, this miso mushroom pasta is clearly an all-around favorite. And rightfully so—it’s rich in flavor, comes together in 30 minutes, and looks pretty on a plate.

5. Orecchiette With Roasted Butternut Squash, Kale, & Caramelized Red Onion

Sweet butternut squash paired with cayenne, kale, caramelized onions, and plenty of feta is a winning combination. Also, orecchiette is awesome. In the world of pastas, it’s the best at mixing business (flavor and texture) with pleasure (fun shape).

4. Vegetable Dumplings

Delicious when served hot or cold, fresh or reheated—a veggie dumpling always shows up and performs. We need more veggie dumplings in the world, and if you’d like to help the cause, this recipe is a great place to start.

3. French Onion Soup

There’s something luxurious about making a good French onion soup at home. Since it's a dish that seemingly only succeeds at restaurants, it’s always fun to enlighten people on the French onion possibilities within their home kitchen.

2. Gingerbread Rolls

These rolls prove that gingerbread doesn’t have to be stiff and dry. Thoroughly spiced with cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves and topped with a sweet and subtle orange frosting, these gingerbread treats are anything but boring.

1. 15-Hour Potato

I like how impressive these potatoes look and how simple they are to make. Other than waiting 15 hours, there isn’t anything technically or physically demanding involved in their preparation. Simply slice potatoes on a mandolin, bake in a loaf tray, cut into rectangles, and fry.
