Kickstarter Love: Sustainable Farm Education

October 16, 2012

Each week in Kickstarter Love, Feed52 will feature a Kickstarter project that focuses on food and the community. Basically, it’s about cool people doing cool things with food. This week, a family farm wants to create an educational homestead and school for the arts, with a focus on sustainability.

The Coleraine Farm, in Brookfield, NH has been a family-owned farm for over 150 years. But with the passing of their father, these kids had to pull together and learn the ropes. Not only have they harvested over 160 varities of vegetables, but they also have 29 free range chickens! Now with the help of their family and friends, they are trying to start an educational farming program for kids and locals.

But they're not going to be able to do this alone. They've got barn foundations to fix, electrical re-wiring, and artist's lofts to renovate. With a small pledge, you could contribute towards a great farm that wants to educate and inspire their local community.

Your support does not go without componsation, though -- with gifts from handcrafted wood cutting boards to a week-long stay on the farm, your contribution would be greatly rewarded!
