After weeks of living and breathing (and eating) all things Piglet, things are finally starting to get back to normal in the land of Food52 -- or, at least, our version of normal. Which means getting back in the kitchen. We were feeling civilized this week, taking the time to enjoy breakfast before a long day of prepping, stirring, and styling. Lucky for us, we had boxes of treats from Dana's Bakery to sustain us throughout the afternoon -- keep an eye out for a sweet shop offer coming soon. Read on for a glimpse into our day, and if you're hungry for more, head over to our Instagram feed to see what we're eating, cooking, and taking pretty pictures of.
1. Sometimes, we have breakfast. There are days where lunch time rolls around and all we've eaten is a few bites of soup. But some days, we take time to pair some food with our coffee -- this week, it was avocado toast with a side of fried cheese. A winning combination, for sure.
2. It was Kristen, in the kitchen, with the chef's knife. Just kidding. Depending on how you look at it, this is either a priceless work of art (Jackson Pollock? Ralph Steadman?), a dicey scene from a Law & Order episode, or the result of chopping beets for a salad that somebody calls genius. We'll let you decide.
3. Tiny bites. There are a few cardinal rules of the test kitchen: make sure there is caffeine handy at all times, always clean up after yourself, and -- most importantly -- fractions don't count. So you've eaten a quarter of four different macarons? That means you've eaten zero.
