Test Kitchen Outtakes: A Day in the Life

May 16, 2013

Have you ever wondered what a day in the Food52 test kitchen actually looks like? Did you assume that we just instagram all day? (We do.) Do you imagine us discussing the delicacy of croissant dough or complaining about the word "unctuous"? (Sometimes.) Are you worried about us going hungry? (Don't be.) To feed your curiosity, we're walking you through what a Tuesday looks like for Food52's editorial team (and James, and Jennifer, and, sometimes, Amanda's twins). Remember to follow us on Instagram for more!

We always drink coffee. And sometimes we have breakfast. This week, Kenzi brought back English Muffin Bread (yes, you read that right) from Big Sky Bakery in Portland, Maine. It didn't last long.

We mise everything. Every ingredient gets prepped and portioned out before we cook -- which is usually why we take so many pretty ingredient shots.

We get creative. And James is always dedicated to getting the best shot. Even if it means sitting on Amanda's counter.

We get to eat really pretty food. And it's fun. And delicious.
